Anyone can receive a police report by simply coming into police headquarters (100 Main Street) and requesting it. Reports are normally available three business days after an incident occurs.

Some tips to help you in receiving a report:

  • If possible please keep a copy of the report number that will be given to you by the police officer.
  • If not you must know the date and exact location where it occurred.
  • Police reports are 25 cents per page for requested reports. (Please bring adequate change!)

All vehicles illegally parked and towed by officers in the City of Garden City are towed at the owner’s expense. You must come to police headquarters in person, and have with you proof of ownership (proof of insurance) and a picture ID, to obtain a vehicle release form from Garden City Police Department. You must then contact the individual towing company to arrange to have your vehicle released.

When is City Court held?

City Court is held every Wednesday at City Hall.

  • The first two Wednesdays of each month are plea days, with criminal cases at 1:00pm and traffic cases at 3:00pm.

  • The last two Wednesdays of each month are trial days, with criminal cases at 1:00pm and traffic cases at 2:00pm.

What is the difference between plea day and trial day?

Plea day is a day for you to speak with the judge about any questions and concerns, or to plea guilty with an explanation. Officers and witnesses are not required to appear on plea day.

On trial day the officer will be required to attend so that he may answer questions relating to your particular incident. Most attorney handled cases are heard this day and if you are pleading not guilty, this is the day you are required to attend.

How can I change my court day from a plea day to a trial day?

To reschedule your case, you must come into the office and request another court date in person. Telephone requests will not be accepted.

When is my payment due?

If you do not want to attend court you may pay your fine either by mail or by stopping by our office. Payments made in person can be made at any time during office hours (we do not have a drop box). If you wish to pay your ticket and not come to court, it must be paid by the Tuesday before your scheduled court date.

What forms of payment do you accept?

We accept cash (if paid in person), money order, and cashier’s check.

Can I mail in my payment?

Yes. We accept both cashier’s check and money orders thru the mail. Please send payments to the Garden City Police Department, 100 Main Street, Garden City , GA 31408. Please do not send cash in the mail.
