The Garden City Police Department provides full service public safety and law enforcement services to its citizens and visitors. The Police Department employs 39 sworn officers supported by six civilian staff. Public protection is provided seven days a week, 24 hours per day.

In conjunction with our community, the Department works to preserve the peace, provide a safe living environment, and ensure the protection of life and property. Services include regular patrol of the City, operation of a neighborhood bike patrol and investigation of criminal activity. The City works cooperatively with the multi-jurisdictional County Narcotics Team (CNT) for investigation and prosecution of drug related crimes.

Garden City employs a Community Policing philosophy, working to educate the public on crime and loss prevention, organize and participate in community outreach events, and engage the principles of our Community Policing mission.
